G Major Chord

this is an audio post - click to play

Here is the G major chord. You have to play all six strings and make sure that all the notes are ringing out just like with the C major chord.

When you are comfortable playing both C and G major chords, practice switching between the two chords. At a very slow pace that you can handle, strum C major chord eight times then switch to G major chord eight times. Keep repeating this until you can make the switch without any delay between the two chords. You should slow it down if you are having too much trouble changing chords in time.

Most people have a tendency to stop strumming with the right hand until the fingers on the left hand find all of the notes that they are supposed to be holding down. Keep your right hand going even if your left hand can't catch up in the beginning. This will force your left hand to move faster.
